WHO IS HOFFNUNGSAU
Hope. Outreach. Fellowship. Faith.
Hoffnungsau Mennonite sits in the peaceful countryside, a view of Christ’s hope from miles away. We are a family of faith, committed to one another, committed to serving in Christ’s name, committed to loving God and loving our neighbor as ourselves.
Founded in 1875 by Russian immigrants from the Molotschna Colony, we celebrate our rich history and heritage, but also look for the movement of the Holy Spirit among us as we open to new ideas and seek to follow Christ in meaningful ways in 2020.
Hoffnungsau is a Mennonite Church USA congregation and is part of the Western District Conference. It’s a German tongue twister with a beautiful meaning. Hoffnungsau translated is, “View of Hope”. With a vision of Hope, Outreach, Fellowship and Faith moving us forward, we stake our foundation in “the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ”. Sharing Christ’s hopeful view, we welcome all to come join us in worship and service.
